THE MINI-JECTOR MODEL 75 PUTS 12.5 TONS OF VERICAL INJECTION MOLDING INTO ONLY 20 SQUARE FEET OF FLOOR SPACE

The model #75 Mini-Jector answers a long-standing need for a precision insert molding machine that is both compact and user friendly. A vertical down-acting 12.5 ton clamp with a horizontal injection unit permits the use of conventional shuttle molds with parting line injection as used in larger vertical machines.

The machine has a formica top level with the clamp that allows the machine operator space to place inserts or tools adjacent to the work area. The machine is designed with a "sit-down" type stand that is very similar to a desk for maximum operator comfort.

The compact design (20 square feet of floor space required) allows the placement of the machine near assembly areas to avoid having to "batch mold" the parts. The machine can be integrated into a product assembly line.

The machine is offered in two injection capacities. The option of either a one or two ounce capacity injection unit permits molding either small delicate parts or fairly large connectors or plugs. The machine can be built as a single station unit or with an in-out single station shuttle table for loading convenience.

CLAMPING UNIT

The Mini-Jector has a direct hydraulic clamp that is locked when closed through a system of check valves. The machine has a both a clamp axis potentiometer and a second mold protection limit switch to insure that the machine will not cycle with any obstruction in the mold.

INJECTION UNIT

The compact injection units feature an efficient direct hydraulic screw drive. The flat-tip nozzle can be supplied with ether a straight orifice or a shut-off non-drool design. Selectable arrow decompression, sprue break, plus adjustable screw and injection speeds offer maximum versitility. The high torque drive permits molding any type of thermoplastic resin.

HYDRAULIC UNIT

The 5 HP motor drives an immersed 5 GPM gear pump for reliable quiet operation. A heat exchanger is provided in the 12 gallon reservoir, as is a return line filter with a monitor connected to the machine alarms. All components are accessible for ease of maintainance. All pressures are controlled with an electronic proportional pressure valve.

CONTROL UNIT

The machine's sequences and parameters are controlled by an extremely guide Mitsubishi PLC and an Exor fluorescent operator interface. All positions, temperatures, hydraulic pressures, and times are set in the screen. The controls settings can be stored in the machine's memory for future selection. Up to 100 set-up "recipes" can be stored. A variety of alarms and safety interlocks are part of the machine software package, and were designed with input from customers. The safety gate is automatically opened during mold opening, and has a positive monitored mechanical safety, a monitored hydraulic safety plus dual electrical interlocks. A selectible automatic temperature cutback will reduce heats if the machine is idle. An air operated safety gate is optional.
