Model 70 Injection Molding Machine

Model 70 Description

The model #70 Mini-Jector answers a long-standing need for a precision semi-automatic molding machine that is both compact and user-friendly. A vertical, twin-cylinder, ten-ton hydraulic clamp with a vertical injection unit permits the use of conventional molds with a center sprue bushing, as used in horizontal machines. This configuration also allows for the use of hot runner molds.

Compatible with molds from other machinery:

- Universal bases 5"x6" U, #5" x 8" U
- Master Unit Dies
Machine is designed with a "sit-down" type stand for maximum operator comfort
Formica table-top
- Gives machine operator space to place inserts or tools adjacent to the work area
Can be built as a single station unit or with an in-out single station shuttle table for loading convenience

Allows placement near assembly areas to avoid having to "batch mold"
Can be easily integrated into a product assembly line

Direct-hydraulic clamp features:
- Clamp axis potentiometer and a settable mold-protect pressure
  - Insures machine will not cycle with obstructions in the mold
- System of check valves lock clamp when it is closed
- Final clamp pressure is fully adjustable
- Hydraulic knockout supplied for on-the-fly part ejection

Compact vertical injection unit features:
- Available in 1 ounce or 2.15 ounce models
- Efficient direct hydraulic screw drive
- Front-loading hopper with dump tube
- Radiused nozzle with either a straight orifice or a shut-off non-drool design
- Selectable:
  - Screw decompression
  - Sprue break
- Adjustable screw and injection speeds
- Adjustable back pressure
- High torque drive for molding any type of thermoplastic resin
- Two-pressure injection can be either timer or position controlled
- Shuttle table available for mold-loading convenience

5 HP pump motor
Immersed 6 GPM vane pump for reliable and quiet operation
12 gallon reservoir features:
- Heat exchanger
- Return line filter with monitor connected to machine alarms
- All pressures controlled with an electronic proportional pressure valve
- All components accessible for ease of maintenance

All sequences and parameters controlled by an extremely quick Mitsubishi PLC
LCD "touch screen" used for operator interface
- All positions, temperatures, hydraulic pressures, and times are set on this screen
Up to 96 twenty-character alpha-numeric set-up "recipes" can be stored
A variety of alarms and safety interlocks are part of the machine software package
- Designed with input from customers
Safety gate features:
- Automatic opening when clamp opens
- Positive monitored mechanical safety
- Monitored hydraulic safety
- Dual electrical interlocks
A selectable automatic temperature “cut-back” feature will automatically reduce temperature settings if the machine goes idle

Model 70 'C' Frame Option

The “C-frame” option gives the machine the ability to accommodate for parts that have attached lengths of cable or tubing in a standard style vertical clamp, horizontal injection machine. The clamp design has an open front, which gives the operator easy access for placing and removing long parts into and out of the mold.

This machine has been designed to allow for both a “side to side” and an “in and out” shuttle.
